2. Affordable Industrial Hygiene Testing

Hiring some consultants to assist with air and sound level testing can prove to be very expensive. For instance, a typical Certified Industrial Hygienist can charge between $165 to $350 per hour, plus expenses. Some will charge extra if you want a written report or charge account setup fees, maintenance fees, phone consultation fees and more. We will never do that!

Per NCCI, he average cost of back injuries is approximately $40,000 per claim. For specific types of back injuries, such as lumbosacral herniated disc injuries, costs can vary significantly, with some cases reaching up to $60,000 or more, depending on the timing of surgery and other factors. Per the National Safety Council, for 2022-2023 the average medical cost for a back injury was $19,865 and indemnity was $24,293 indicating an average of $44,158. Some claims can reach $200,000 or more. These are direct costs. Indirect costs can range from 4 to 10 times the indirect costs per claim! Depending on a companies profit margin, it can take up to several million dollars in additional sales to break even from just one back claim!

For instance, a $40,000 workers compensation back claim direct cost can be multiplied by 4 times in indirect costs (multiplier OSHA uses) or $160,000 total indirect costs. Adding $40,000 direct and $160,000 indirect costs total a whopping $200,000 for one minor back injury! To make matters worse, if a company operates at a 10% profit margin, it would take an additional 2 million dollars in sales to break even for just one back claim. Get the picture? Several back claims or even one very expensive claim can bankrupt a company.
